ABOUT US
We found Kingdon Gardens in 2006 and instantly knew that it was a place that would make a fantastic holiday destination. Only 2 miles from Barnstaple town centre, in a secluded valley with picturesque views and within easy reach of the popular surfing beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe we loved it from the moment we saw it. Over the last 10 years we have started extensive redevelopment work to return this derelict market gardens to its former glory. There is still a lot of work to do, but with produce now growing in the walled centre garden and fruit on the tree's in the orchard. I am sure you will enjoy the beauty and tranquillity as much as we do!
Rose Cottage, Lounge
We now have two self-catering properties, Rose Cottage is a spacious property with a fully fitted Kitchen, Lounge/Dinner, a downstairs cloakroom, two bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom with a shower and a bath. Honeysuckle Cottage is again two bedrooms with a spacious downstairs bathroom and upstairs cloakroom.

Garden
We have just under 4 acres of shared gardens for you to enjoy during your stay, as well as small patio outside your cottage equipped with garden furniture and a BBQ for your use.
TV
FreeSat is available in your cottage, along with a DVD player for any movies you want to bring to enjoy on your holiday.
Free Wifi
Free Wifi is available in your cottage, although as we are in a rural location speeds are not all that fast.
Check In/Out
Check in time is 4pm on your arrival date and check out time is 9am on your day of departure.
Tesco Click & Collect or Delivery

THINGS TO DO
Beaches
Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay and Woolacombe Bay are under 30 mins away and provide the perfect beaches for families & water sports enthusiasts.

Food and Drink
In Barnstaple we are very fortunate to have many cafe's that serve the best of the local produce that Devon has to offer. Why not sample a delicious cream team at Tea By the Taw, or even check out their lunch offerings if you happen to pop in at the right time.
Pannier Market
​
Visit the historic Pannier market and butchers row in Barnstaple and sample local produce from the Westcountry Cheese Shop and Withecombe's butchers in Joy street.
Leisure Activities
There are a great number of things to do no matter what the weather, why not hire a bike and cycle up the Tarka trail from Barnstaple to get a delicious ice cream at Fremington Quay. Check out the information folder in your cottage for more ideas.
Lundy Island
Why not take a day trip to the beautiful island of Lundy, trips go from IIfracombe or Appledore. The boat trip takes around 2 hours to get to Lundy and you need at least 4 hours there to see its delights.
Golf
North Devon is lucky to have two championship courses, with Saunton Sands and Royal North Devon. Golf can be arranged a both courses for during your stay, please ask for more details.

Rose Cottage is a spacious property with a fully fitted Kitchen, Lounge/Dinner, a downstairs cloakroom, two bedrooms, both have zip and link beds so can be set up as either super king size beds or twin rooms and a luxurious bathroom with a shower and a bath.

Honeysuckle Cottage is a cosy property with a fully fitted Kitchen, Lounge/Dinner, a downstairs luxury bathroom, two bedrooms, one bedroom has a King Size bed and the other is a twin room, with a single and a single cabin bed with a upstairs cloakroom,
